+DM = up-move when it exceeds down-move; −DM opposite; +DI/−DI = 100·smoothed DM / ATR

How to read

+DI above −DI favors upside direction; reverse favors downside. Pair with ADX for strength.

Limitations

Crossovers lag. Weak in tight ranges.
